Things I Love This Week

Quote

“Narrow-minded people are similar to narrow-necked bottles. The less they have in them the more noise they make pouring it out.”- Alexander Pope

Fits nicely with the post I wrote this week on Travel Benefits: Opening your mind up to other opinions

Song- Wish you Well- Bernard Fanning

One of my most played songs on my ipod this week. I love Bernard Fanning’s solo album “Tea and Symphony.” I was hoping to find a better video for you, but this was the best I could do.

Fave Article of the Week

I think this article fits really well with the topic of my podcast this week, which was on overcoming the struggle for time.

It is from Marc and Angel Hack Life and it is on 50 ways to get more done today

New Blog- Miss Britt

Miss Britt is in Pursuit of Happiness and my latest blog discovery that I am really enjoying. Miss Britt has taken off on a trip around America with her family. I am enjoying the lessons she is learning and the perspective she can offer us on minimizing your life and living your passions.

Olay Regenerist Anti-Ageing Eye Roller

I’m usually quite a sceptic when it comes to the magic of creams, especially eye creams. I constantly have dark circles under my eyes (bad kidney chi?) and I have tried, unsuccessfully many magic potions to get rid of them.

I was recently invited to try the anti-ageing eye roller cream and I must say that I already look 10 years younger!!

Just kidding. I wish.

I don’t have a lot of wrinkles around my eyes (except for when I laugh and smile and those I don’t think will ever disappear and why would I want them to- they are happy wrinkles?), so I can’t really say about the dramatic results. The fine wrinkles aren’t appearing though!

But, I do really like the rolling pen. It has three precision micro-rollers that gently massage the skin surface around my eyes. It gives me a refreshing start to the day and does make me feel younger. The pen does help to reduce puffiness, re-hydrates my eye area, and just gives me a little beauty feel-good boost of a morning. I like it and I’m sure after a couple more weeks of using it I will see more of a youthful appearance.

Seeing my baby girl again in 3D ultra sound

Little baby makepeace 3d ultrasound

She looks like her daddy and Kalyra

I had to have precautionary ultrasound the other day, due to me being very small. There is not one person I have told how many weeks pregnant I am without their jaws dropping in shock at my size. I am really small; I was really small with Kalyra too and had the same reactions. So just to be sure, I had to have the ultrasound to check all is well.

All is well. I’m just tall and carry it differently.

It gave me a great chance to see my little angel. So precious and so much like a real baby now.

Kalyra’s saying

My Mum: And are you still sleeping without a nappy on?

Kalyra: Well actually Nanny, that is not going as well as we hoped.

Book Extract

Taken from: Travellers’ Tales Guides ‘A Mother’s World’ Marybeth Bond and Pamela Michael

A mother remembers all too well what it feels like to have another human being share her body. We are blessed with the long and slowly unfolding knowledge and sensation of carrying life inside us. This remarkable process gives us not only an acute awareness of the connections between all living things, the responsibility inherent in creating life, its fragility and magic, but also the pain and sorrow of existence, the fear and reality of loss.
