It is an essential part of the<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/category\/mojo-making\/success-tips\/\" target=\"_blank\"> path to success.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not only is the learning great, but the <strong>networking with other like minded people<\/strong> is always a highlight. This event did not let us down, we met and had fun with so many incredible people. I just love this community.<\/p>\n<p>Darren Rowse is the man behind <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/problogger.net\" target=\"_blank\">Problogger<\/a>,<\/strong> one of the biggest blogs in the world and one that we admire greatly.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/2011\/10\/highlights-from-the-problogger-training-day-event-in-melbourne\/with-darren-rowse\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3286\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3286\" title=\"with Darren Rowse\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/with-Darren-Rowse-580x346.jpg\" alt=\"Caz Craig and Darren Rowse\" width=\"580\" height=\"346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/with-Darren-Rowse-580x346.jpg 580w, https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/with-Darren-Rowse-300x179.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/with-Darren-Rowse.jpg 816w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We always had secret dreams to one day be able to speak at conference events like these, not ever really knowing what we would talk about. Life is so funny as to where it takes you.<\/p>\n<p>We were super super stoked to have the opportunity to share our blogging journey through an interview with Darren at the event. Even though we were so nervous we had a lot of fun. And we are excited to be doing it again next week in <strong>New Zealand at the Australian Travel Writers Conference<\/strong>. Hopefully we won&#8217;t be as nervous this time.<\/p>\n<h2>Highlights from the Problogger Training Event<\/h2>\n<p>I spent a majority of the time coming in and out of sessions to feed Savannah (who was an angel) so missed a fair bit.<\/p>\n<p>Thank goodness or the #pbevent twitter stream which kept me up-to-date outside.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The amazing community of people who were so kind and loving towards our<strong> baby girl Savannah<\/strong>. We can&#8217;t tell you how much we love and appreciate this. Love is so vital for babies to thrive and I&#8217;m sure she was wrapped up in a lot of it during the day. Many thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/denysewhelan.com.au\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Denyse Whelan<\/strong> <\/a>who helped look after her while we were on stage and to Zoey from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goodgoogs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Good Googs <\/a>who lent me a hug a bub as I left mine at home. It is all about blogging from the heart and blogging smart.\u00a0Your\u00a0writing <strong>has to come from passion, but you also need a strategy.<\/strong> Darren is an engaging speaker and very witty. He gave me lots of little giggles throughout the day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>I loved seeing <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ladymelbourne.com.au\/about\/rate-card-copyright\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lady Melbourne&#8217;s Media Kit<\/a><\/strong> and hearing her talk on advertising. She is making a stand for her voice and value, which is inspiring to us all. She made me think more about how to incorporate giveaways\u00a0on our blog as well as how to price my value better.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Tim Ferris surprise appearance. How cool was that? Tim Ferriss popped by to talk to us a little about blogging and his success.\u00a0His tips: <strong>&#8220;Define what success means to you, write a post so that it has more value in two years time, and the best way to learn from those who are experts is to buy them a few drinks and get to know each other on a more personal level first&#8221;- I like it!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_3285\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/2011\/10\/highlights-from-the-problogger-training-day-event-in-melbourne\/tim-ferris\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3285\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3285\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3285\" title=\"tim ferris\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/tim-ferris.jpg\" alt=\"tim Ferriss at problogger\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/tim-ferris.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/tim-ferris-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/tim-ferris-580x386.jpg 580w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3285\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Gtvone<\/p><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>I was disappointed to miss Nicole Avery&#8217;s from<a href=\"http:\/\/planningwithkids.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong> Planning with Kids<\/strong> <\/a>presentation on <strong>productivity<\/strong>. I so admire her organizational skills and her boundless energy. She is an inspiration. Luckily, Craig covered it and learned some much needed tips.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>I also enjoyed hearing some of the talk on where your blog can take you. It is always great to hear what others are doing for inspiration\u00a0and\u00a0ideas as to what you can do. Seems as if <strong>The Circle<\/strong> is the place to be- I wonder if they would love travel bloggers\u00a0to share some space on the couch.&#8217;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Chatting with David from Nuffnang, learning more about\u00a0what they do and talking of our <strong>shared love for Africa,<\/strong> particularly <strong>Cape Town<\/strong> where he is going soon and making me very jealous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Meeting in person Annabel from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/getinthehotspot.com\" target=\"_blank\">Get in the Hot Spot<\/a><\/strong> and Lisa Wood from <a href=\"http:\/\/newlifeontheroad.com\" target=\"_blank\">New Life on the Road<\/a>, and Nicole from<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/bittenbythetravelbug,com\" target=\"_blank\"> Bitten by the Travel Bug<\/a><\/strong> friends of ours from our travel blogging community and speaking to Dylan Lowe from<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetravellingeditor.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0The travelling Editor<\/a><\/strong> over skype! Can&#8217;t wait for those shots when we arrive in London.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Something that will always be a highlight for us- the networking drinks. We met so many cool people and had some great conversations. I&#8217;ve found a ton of new blogs to follow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Of course outside of the event there was meeting with our online travel blogging friends David Dean from <a href=\"http:\/\/whatsdavedoing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>What&#8217;s Dave Doing?<\/strong> <\/a>and Colin from<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vagabondfamily.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Vagabond Family<\/a><\/strong> for lunch and a couple of drinks at a small restaurant on Degraves St (love) IT is always so great to hang out with fellow travellers, you always feel like you are sitting chatting with friends you&#8217;ve known or years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" \" src=\"https:\/\/fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net\/hphotos-ak-snc7\/316087_289046771113551_111652702186293_1175144_849056358_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"382\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">With Dave and Colin<\/p><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Speaking of which, catching up with a friend we have known for\u00a0years\u00a0for <strong><a title=\"Kalyra loves Coffee Shops\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/2011\/04\/kalyra-loves-coffee-shops\/\" target=\"_blank\">coffee<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Enjoying a <strong>delicious Italian meal<\/strong> with Lina Nguyen, our friend and <strong><a title=\"10 Things I Love this Week: Birthday Dinner, Soul Thongs, Pearl Jam\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mojitomother.com\/2011\/10\/10-things-i-love-this-week-birthday-dinner-soul-thongs-pearl-jam\/\" target=\"_blank\">blogger&#8217;s agent<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Just quietly, how comfortable were those <strong>King Sized beds at the Novotel?<\/strong> It was seriously tempting me to forget the whole problogger event and stay starfish on there all day!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As always we are sad when events like this finish, but excited to have made<strong> new friends<\/strong> and walked out with <strong>new ideas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Many thanks to Darren, the speakers and his team for making it an excellent event.
